Chris Beanland checks into a cosy hotel in the heart of the Bavarian city
Nuremberg’s Park Plaza has those few key touches that make the difference between a good stay and a great stay — the kind of thing every hotel worth its salt should aspire to. First tick goes to its location — right outside Nuremberg’s main railway station, so easy to reach by train and also U-Bahn from the airport. It’s also right beside the city walls. The decor is lovely: cool meets cosy. From my top-floor room I could survey the whole city in comfort. There’s a complimentary mini-bar, another great idea to foster a spirit of welcome. And, while the breakfast buffet, rather disappointingly, didn’t feature the local Nuremberg rostbratwurst, the dinner I had was excellent. The hotel’s trump card, though, is the service. The staff were wonderfully welcoming, friendly and professional.
