Nicola Trup beds down in the heart of the Slovenian capital
The InterContinental Ljubljana is housed in an eye-catching addition to the skyline of the Slovenian capital, and at 22 storeys it’s the tallest building in the city. From the open terrace at the top you can gaze down across the city from the B Bar and Restaurant, whose menu comes courtesy of Michelin-starred, Turin-based chef Alfredo Russo. The gym and spa, just below the restaurant, offer equally stunning views, and my 9th-floor corner suite has floor-to-ceiling windows in place of two walls. Bedroom decor is a thorough update of the InterContinental ‘international business’ style, with handsome autumnal palettes and dark wood. Added luxuries include valet parking, excellent breakfast, free wi-fi and the Club Lounge with complimentary food and drink for qualifying guests.
